The M/V Turmalina

4 days/ 3 nights exploring the wonderful Amazon and Marañon Rivers towards the “Parque Natural Amazonico” (Amazon Natural Park), one of the most interesting destinations during your stay in the jungle, we will enjoy the suspended bridges, giant trees and enchanted lake.

This great adventure designed for those nature lovers who do not have much time to travel, this will offer a good view of life in the Amazonia; from exotic birds, glad gray and pink dolphins, to the home of the river people, local inhabitants of the margins of the rivers, heirs of a vast culture.

Classic vessels, built in early 19th Century style will be our base for the route throughout one of main the tributary ones of the Amazon river: the Marañon river, which will mark the rules for numerous excursions and activities to explore the incredible flora and fauna of the Peruvian Amazon basin.

ABOUT THE BOATS:

The Amatista (30), Turmalina (28), La Esmeralda (17), La Aquamarina (24) All these boats were built in their own ship yard (Iquitos) with a unique combination of Amazonian hard wood and steel, the result is a classic early nineteen century style.  They are beautifully furnished with polished wooden floors.  The air conditioned ships have one restaurant, an open bar area and one observation deck.  All cabins are air conditioned, mainly twin beds and are comfortable and spacious provided with individual drinking water bottles each day, private shower with toilet and hot/cold water 24 hours a day.  All of the ships are very similar and offer the same facilities and service, the only difference is the number of cabins in each boat.

The Itinerary:

Day 1 Iquitos and the Majestic Amazon River.

Our adventure begins sightseeing in our equipped busses the City of Iquitos home to once famous rubber barons. We board our ship and enjoy the diverse scenery as we start navigating and exploring the Amazon River.

Day 2

Amazon Culture and the Amazon Natural Park.

The peculiar Amazon Culture has hundreds of years of history and costumes that we will be able to appreciate by interacting with a local community and participating in a ceremony for health and good luck with a Jibaro Ashual Shaman.  This afternoon we will get a chance to see the jungle from the tree tops through 300 meters of hanging bridges.

Day 3 Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

We will spend today exploring this incredible area throughout narrow black water tributaries, home to numerous species of wildlife such as king fishers, toucans, macaws and egrets; troops of capuchin monkey, duskytiti monkey, iguanas, sloths and many other.

Day 4 Farewell

Our incredible voyage comes to an end as we arrive to the City of Iquitos and continue our way back home.
